Troy Paiva’s Lost America

If there’s one thing I can always appreciate, it’s the aesthetics of crumbling, abandoned buildings. Troy Paiva’s photographs of abandoned cars, gas stations, theme parks and other sites across the American Southwest perfectly capture this beautiful decay. By lighting his scenes with contrasting, coloured lamps Paiva decontextualizes these familiar objects to accentuate the eerieness with which they are imbued as they decay. Check out the massive collection of images, and order prints, here.
